PRAYER:
Dear Lord, our Heavenly Father,
Our nation is in need of an awakening to Your ways! Your Word says that righteousness will exalt a nation. So, we ask for the hearts of our leaders to be open to your wisdom and ways. We are asking for Your divine intervention to heal our land and that righteous judgments and decisions are made by our government and court system. We ask that honesty and truth would be restored to our culture and very fabric of our society.
Lord, we are grieved by the conduct of our leaders and people as they denounce one another and refuse to work toward the common good of the people. There has been a spirit of division amongst our leaders and people. Your Word says, a nation divided against itself cannot stand. Forgive us Lord! Bring our leaders, regardless of their party, to come together in peace, to work together at re-building the nation we love, to strengthen our infra-structure, to rebuild our military, and to care for our people. Let our leaders and our people put aside their philosophies, pride and pettiness, and seek the higher path of reconciliation. Lord, You, are the Restorer of the breach, and without You, working in each person, we cannot do this. We cry out to You to heal every division and every faction.
We are asking for the unity that is needed to incur Your blessing! Lord, Your Word says that “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” We pray for all those in authority at every level of government – Federal, State and Local. We ask for the Holy Spirit to heal the great division we see in our nation. The clash between Biblical values and ungodly philosophical values, indeed the clash between light and darkness, is a huge reason for this incredible division. But Your Word says, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; but it also says, “I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight …For it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them. Nothing is impossible with You, Lord! So, we pray that there would be a great opening of Your Word in their hearts, that they would be able to experience the joy of salvation. Father, as your people, we purpose to humble ourselves before you and turn from our own selfish ways, that You would forgive our sin and heal our land. We desperately need Your help to do this.
*Lord, if there is any divisive way in me, expose it. I am listening. _________Let the words of my heart and mouth be words of reconciliation and hope. For out of the abundance of my heart, my mouth speaks. Lord, I purpose to build unity and hope in my life, in those around me, in my church and in my country, and especially unity with You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
