50 Days of Prayer – Oregon Coast
Day 22
Supreme Court and the Court System
2 Chronicles 19:5-7 Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.”
Proverbs 8:20; Proverbs 29:4
PRAYER:
Dear Father in Heaven,
We desire to see justice prevail in our state. So, we ask that You guard our court system: The Supreme Court, all the Appellate Courts, Tax Courts, Court of Appeals, Circuit Courts, Municipal Courts and County Courts. May all the Justices take heed to your Word and recognize their awesome responsibility before You. For You traverse the way of righteousness and are in the midst of the paths of justice. We pray You grant these courts wisdom and understanding as they judge righteously. Lord, we ask that You protect our judges from unrighteous influences of our culture and from special interest groups whose purpose it is to undermine and violate Your precepts. We bind our judge’s minds and hearts to Your Word, and to the Constitution. We pray Your righteousness to work through and on behalf of our people. We ask that Your Spirit rise up, giving wisdom and discernment to our judges, and that unrighteous decrees would be overthrown in our state and in our nation. Help the people rise up and place judges in positions of authority that will not be swayed by the strongholds of this age. We thank You that our Constitution is based on Your precepts. Now, we commit our judges to rise up, let their ‘yes’ be “yes,” and their ‘no’ be “no”, and they be lined up with the original intent of these biblical precepts. We know that for our land to prosper with laws supporting abortion and laws which undermine your precepts in marriage, family, parental management and education, we need to repent. Justice must prevail; for justice will truly establish our land!
The Supreme Court is the highest court in the State judicial branch. Lord, we lift up each of the Supreme Court justices in our State to You. Have Your way in them, Lord. Help them to hear Your voice as they preside. May they sense Your presence and guidance in all their judgments! In Jesus Name, Amen!
Now, I pray for the Justices of our State Supreme Court and the cases they review _____________
