50 Days of Prayer – Oregon Coast
Day 37
Community Violence
Ps.55:8-10 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.” Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues, for I have seen violence and strife in the city. Day and night, they go around it on its walls; Iniquity and trouble are also in the midst of it.
PRAYER:
Father, Your arm is not short! You are righteous and holy. We ask that You capture the hearts of those who do violence and who stir up strife and division. Sometimes this violence is in our homes. Sometimes it is in our communities. Thwart every evil plan and bring their plans to nothing! Bring them to repentance. Deliver each from corrupt companionship. Deliver them from the effect of gangs, drugs, alcohol, rebellion, and hatred and provide them a way of escape. Most of these individuals are people with deep wounds of rejection, fear, and poverty in spirit. It is our heart that You would rescue them from their sin and deliver them from the depths of unrighteousness. So, where sin abounds, grace much more abounds. Lord, the Church needs wisdom and grace to disciple and encourage these people in the way they should go. Make the supporting Christians wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Help us to not grow weary in well doing because in the end we reap a harvest. We dispatch warrior and ministering angels to watch over our cities, neighborhoods, homes and churches to protect them from all harm. Give our police wisdom to uncover schemes hidden in darkness. Protect our police officers from ambushes set against them. Help them follow the leading of Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, I lift up those I know who have fallen into deep rebellion toward You and toward man _________ (Name them). I pray for a sovereign move upon their heart(s). Help me to pray regularly for them and use me to share Your love. In Jesus Name, Amen
