Day 26

Our People – Part 2

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Psalm 68:6 God sets the solitary in families; …

Leviticus 19:32 ‘You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man and fear your God: I am the Lord.

PRAYER:
Youth: Let the fire of Your Spirit flood our young people with a vision and a hope throughout this state! Give them holy boldness to follow You and to testify of Your greatness. Make them ministers of Your peace and hope and let a spirit of intercession fall on our young people. Plow up the ground of their hearts and make them a fertile field for the planting of the Lord. Holy Spirit come and speak to the hearts of our youth to keep them pure and holy and unblemished for You. When temptations come near, let Your righteousness rise up and give strength to resist them. Separate each child from corrupt companionship and help them cleave to good friendships that lead to You. Let those who love You have great favor with the multitudes. Make them witnesses to all the earth. We pray that You would impart wisdom to our young people and prepare their hearts to lead the next generation in purity, wisdom and holiness. Raise up righteous young people with servant hearts and leadership skills to be in positions of authority. Let our future generations be as unto You!

Foster Children: Lord, we yoke these children to You, for Your protective care and love, even before they become foster children. Sovereignly fill these children’s hearts with Your love and protect them before and after placement. We pray for godly foster homes that will minister love and healing to these children. Father, may they know they have been given the right to become a child of God and may they have every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. Lord, we ask that these precious children know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. We pray they would know they are accepted in the Beloved, received by You, adopted by You and complete in You.

Elderly: Lord, at a time in their lives when our elders need You most, make yourself real to them. Fill their hearts with peace. Comfort those who grieve. We pray protection over each one, as they become more frail, that You would uphold them with Your victorious right hand! If they cannot stay at home, we pray that You would go before them and behind them, comfort them as they grieve the loss of independence. Help them to make new friends and prepare the way of the Lord! We pray for every care facility, that You would bring in quality staff who care and protect. The facilities are a mission field, Lord, for the residents and the staff! Let Your name be exalted. Give boldness to those who know You, to lead each other, even the staff, to Your throne of grace. We seal them with Your word. They are created in Your image, You, knew them before You formed them in their mother’s womb. Before they were born, they were sanctified and ordained as a prophet to the nations. They are the body of Christ Jesus and a member individually.

Single Parents: Lord, we pray for our single parents. Lord, there are so many of them due to teen pregnancy and divorce. Lord, we do not know what these families have been through, but we cry out that You would be a Father to the fatherless and that You would be an everpresent help in time of trouble. Heal every bit of anger, bitterness or fear. We pray that You would be the “husband” and supplier of resources and strength. Help our single parents to lead their families with wisdom, being faithful to Your word. Help them find You in every situation and circumstance, Lord. We pray for the children of these families to be trained up in the way they should go. Help single parents to administer consistent, wise and godly discipline. Surround these families with godly men and women who encourage and provide them with extended family support. Raise up a standard of protection over the children from un-godly people, motives and influences. When single parents go to court, only You know the Truth of their situation. Turn the heart of the judge to protect the children. Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

*And now, Lord, I have prayed for many kinds of people whom You love. Open my heart to pray for families or individuals who are struggling. Help me to not be judgmental or critical. Is there an elder, single parent or someone who needs my love and support? I am listening! In Jesus Name! Amen
