The Father’s Heart – Recovery for the Nation

Day 23

Healing of National Divisions & Factions

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him; 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift to run to evil, 19 a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

PRAYER:
Father, forgive us for entertaining a spirit of control and greed in this country. We have been divided in our expectations for the distribution of wealth by the marketplace and by our government. We have not taken responsibility for our own actions and have not sought You as our provider. You have always blessed our country with abundance. But instead of thanking You and seeking You, we have sought our own control and greed. Forgive us for envy and covetousness. We have harbored hatred and resentment for those we accuse of exploiting us and come against them with a spirit of condemnation. Forgive us for belittling and demeaning those with whom we disagree and not coming in the spirit of reconciliation. We repent of our not loving those that we perceive as our enemies and not seeking peace.

Father, as You have forgiven us, we forgive others. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) We commit ourselves to showing the same love that God showed us and to seeking reconciliation. “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” (Luke 6:27-28) Father, we ask for Your grace that Your law of love may rule in our hearts. We commit ourselves to extend grace and mercy to others.

We are reminded that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) Therefore, we claim the name of Jesus and plead His blood over our homes, communities, state and this nation; that the divisive strongholds will be broken. We stand against division that comes from substance abuse and contentious spirits in our families. We come against the devaluation of other human beings, including the lives of unborn children and sex trafficking. We turn from disparaging others based upon nationality, social groups, financial conditions, or race. We ask You to break the strongholds of unforgiveness and hatred. Cut off any controlling spirits based upon greed, any spirit that would diminish the freedoms that are given by You, and any spirit of arrogance that would place ourselves or any idols above Your authority. Lord, in Your grace, we commit to encouraging, lifting up and blessing others.

Lord, we purpose to respectfully and firmly stand without compromise for truth, justice, and righteousness in this land. We ask You to break division, as we stand on Your immutable truth. In Your truth, we ask Your blessing of forgiveness, healing, restoration, acceptance and adoption of the unsaved into Your family. Strengthen us and unite us in You, Lord. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
