The Father’s Heart – Recovery for the Nation

Day 22

Expose and Overcome the Dark Agendas with Your Light

Scripture:
Ephesians 5:8-11, For you were once in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth, finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Luke 8:16-17, No one when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.

Isaiah 60:1-2, Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise Your name above all names. Hear our prayers. We praise You as our Creator, Redeemer, our holy and majestic Father of all life, truth and light. Your word says, ‘You are light and in You there is no darkness at all’. (John 1:5) Lord, we humble ourselves as we come to Your throne of mercy and grace. Thank you, Lord. We are truly grateful for Your mercy and our salvation through the shed blood of your son Jesus Christ.

Much of our nation, founded on Your laws and precepts and by people who were called by Your name, is now in deep darkness. Father, forgive us for allowing Your name and Your ways to be re-moved from important institutions in the land, especially in parts of the education system, media, business, governing bodies and many families. Your name has been blasphemed in arts and entertainment, in our families and in the media. Father, forgive us. We have spilled blood of more than 60 million innocent babies, endorsed by ungodly abortion laws. Our people even pay for this with taxes. Our hearts grieve…we cry out, forgive us! Cover the stain of our sin and help us make our laws righteous. Behind closed doors, laws are being set in motion which violate many of Your precepts. Our land has been defiled and we cry out for the washing of our nation by Your precious blood, for the healing of our nation.

We, the Church, repent for having been lukewarm instead of resolute when we should have stood strong for Your righteousness and Word. We come now as the darkness is growing intolerable. Lord we grapple with immorality, degradation and corruption in our society, in our cities and on our streets. We know that principalities and powers and rulers in darkness of the age (Eph. 6:12) are prompting evil doers and the unscrupulous leaders to enact laws behind closed doors. This hidden and deceptive lawmaking brings pain and suffering to the people in all manner of social, financial and cultural ways. Dark agendas defile our legislative process in the nation and in many states, including our own. We know that some people of wealth and power support and promote violence and unrest, and that many lawmakers and leaders join in this entrapment while the country’s eyes are diverted and distracted with COVID-19 virus. Intentional lies twist and distort truth to undermine general goodwill, trust in our history and in one another. Lord, expose these evil doers, law-makers and unjust laws. Expose the agendas and the people that desire to bring down our great nation. Bring into the light the corruption and lust for power behind it. Lord, we cry out for Your light and Your truth to prevail in our nation. We cry out for Your true justice to prevail. So we speak to these mountains of corruption, “Be thou removed and cast into the sea of justice and mercy.”

In prayer, we cry as one that Your Holy Spirit be strong in each member of Your body and that we rise as one, fervent in prayer and Your love. Lord, let us arise in and as Your light to overcome the darkness and corruption in our nation. Let us bring those that are deceived into the light of your Son, Jesus Christ.

In action, move upon Your people to rise up, to speak boldly in love in the marketplace and in places of authority, to overcome evil with good. Lord, we need godly leadership in every sphere of our culture. Speak to Your people, to wake up, rise up, and be of very good courage. Help Your people possess the promised land. Fill their mouths with the Word of God, and when they speak, grant them favor with You and with man. During this season of elections, we cry out that those with dark agendas, impractical, unaffordable plans be replaced with godly leaders who can lead with wisdom, strength and who can put our communities, state and nation back on track with Your purposes.

Lord, we cry out once again. Make us that ‘one nation under God’ this was our foundation from You. Lord, once again let us be the salt and light, the city on a hill and beacon of hope for the masses that You intended. Lord, empower us with Your love and wisdom to restore and transform America to the destiny You have planned.
In Christ’s name we pray. Amen
