Education Curriculum

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

2 Tim. 3:16-18 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Col. 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, You honor teachers as one of the pillars of the Christian community. In fact, one of the many names of your Son Jesus was that of Teacher. He taught the disciples, the disciples passed down His teachings to the new followers, and so on. We are so glad that there were teachers to share the story of how You loved us so much that You sent Your Son to save us from our sins!

However, times are so different nowadays. Our children attend public schools that do not permit any knowledge of You to be mentioned. At its core, the curriculum is human-centered, not God-centered. Many theories are taught as facts with no discussion allowed. Too much time in the classroom is spent on material that is not relevant or proper and not enough time on basic skills. We have a nation of children and young adults who cannot spell or write a coherent sentence.

Oh Lord, we pray for changes in the classroom. We pray that teachers would no longer teach subject matter that should instead be taught by parents at home. We pray that parents would be allowed to have a voice on the educational materials used in the classroom and that these are age appropriate. We pray that our children are also taught to be good citizens, that they learn the accurate history of this country and study the foundational documents that make it so exceptional. We need our children to have a strong foundation to develop into caring, well-rounded and intelligent adults.

Lord God, we lift up our school boards and curriculum administrators. Please give them wisdom and sensitivity to make excellent choices in the material they acquire. Open their eyes and hearts to the true needs of our students. Have them turn to You and Your Word as their guide. We ask that associations, which operate teacher’s unions, would have a correction in the direction they push their social agendas. We ask for wisdom as a nation to know how to undo the works of darkness which have been funneled through these organizations. Raise up Your champions to oppose and overcome these strategies. Father, we need Your help. You are mighty in battle. In Jesus’ name we pray.
