The Father’s Heart – Recovery for the Nation

Day 11

Recovery of The Economy and Businesses

Luke 12:15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Chron 7:13-14 “When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Dear Father, We ask for Your forgiveness in the name and shed blood of Jesus. Forgive us for our greed and selfish ways and not honoring You in all our ways. Forgive us when we look to our-selves and rely on our skills, proficiencies and abilities to provide things and we forget that everything we have comes from You.

Father, we pray for our economy. We pray for a strong and vibrant economy based on reality and not speculation. In recent months, it has ridden a roller coaster of highs and lows. It has faltered under the COVID-19 pandemic, the stock market, civil unrest, and world-wide uncertainties of failed economies, wars, famines, disease, and strife.

We pray for the small businesses and their employees who have been the backbone of America. We pray for the large industries. We pray for the millions of workers who have lost their jobs, who have been furloughed or who are on unemployment. Many can’t make monthly payments and face losing homes, cars, etc. Many have been unable to get the medical attention they rely on in order to provide for themselves and their families. We pray for them and their families. We pray that jobs will be restored to their previous levels, or that the underemployed or unemployed would soon find suitable, steady work in healthy, positive work environments where they are valuable contributors to the success of their company. May they work heartily for You, Lord, rather than just to man. We pray they will not lose their faith and will turn to You in these difficult times. Lord, You promise if we seek Your kingdom and know You as our righteousness, You will give us each and every day what we need no matter what the circumstances (Matt. 6:25-34).

We pray for employers that their business will remain profitable, so they can pay their employees and add more to their workforce. We pray for the supply chains: the farmers, truckers, meatpackers, grocers, warehouse people, etc… Keep the goods and services open, available and coming, Lord. We pray there are no shortages that cause hoarding, hardships, or unemployment. We have come to heavily rely on these services and suppliers to meet our needs and to conduct business.

Oh, Lord, we pray for supernatural wisdom for our leaders in making wise decisions in directing our economy. We pray for leaders who will look to You for wisdom and use biblical guidelines in the many challenges they deal with and decide on. Lord, You have clear vision of the days ahead. Help us trust and rest in what You have for us. Thank you, Father, that You are the Creator of the universe and that You hear and answer our prayers according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen
