The Father’s Heart – Recovery for the Nation

Day 5

Discipleship/Multiplication

Romans 10:14-15 “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things.’”

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

II Timothy 2:2 “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Dear Lord, we thank You that during and in the aftermath of this great spiritual awakening taking place, your people will not be content to only revel in their new freedom, but will be compelled by Your Spirit to bring the good news to others who will then, in turn, bring it to others.

We bind up the spirit of selfishness and false contentment that would cause us to stay comfortably where we are, and ask that You would give us Your eyes to see the brokenness in the world around us and Your heart of compassion to show it Your healing. We know that we cannot do this effectively in our own strength or wisdom, so we humbly, but expectantly rely on the Holy Spirit to empower us to reach our communities. Because You said that You would send workers for the harvest when we pray, we ask that You would high-light to us people of peace into which You would have us pour Your word into. Father, we know that Your heart is to reach all people unto the ends of the earth. So right now, at this time in history, we believe and contend for disciples to be birthed for several generations of disciple-making.

Today, we lay down our foolish pride, false ambitions and personal ambitions on the altar of unity. You have said that the hurting world will know us by our love for one another (John 17), so we purpose to extend grace to each other, repent when we do wrong and forgive when wrong is done to us so we may accomplish Your great com-mission together.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
