Day 2

Recovery from the Coronavirus

Scripture:
Matthew 5: 4,6,7,9
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.

Psalm 91
Abba Father, we come before Your throne of grace to find help for a hurting world. A world smitten by a plague that has brought death and destruction to nearly every nation. Lord, we cry out for mercy and help. We are a weak and sinful people. As a world-wide culture we have sinned against You and man. We come before You crying out for forgiveness. We come before You with repentant hearts. We ask that You break the yoke of infirmity that has covered our nation and world. We cry out for healing in every sector. Turn the heart of our nation toward You during this season.

We ask for healing to those who have been sick with coronavirus. We ask for Christians to rise up, care for the sick, and minister hope to the hurting. We bind the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name, and cry out for more faith. We ask for strength and wisdom for our healthcare workers and an extra measure of protection from the virus. We lift up areas which have been overwhelmed by the virus.

Lord, we ask that You inactivate the virulence of this virus and turn it into a spoiled and defeated foe. Strengthen our God-built immune systems to resist disease and be overcomers. We ask for special grace over our elders. We pray for scientists and doctors to find amazing new treatments and strategies to meet needs and speed recoveries. We ask for herd immunity in our general population and that vaccines will not be required.

We cry out to the Passover Lamb, to paint the doorposts of our homes, cities, state and nation with the Blood of Jesus, for the protection we seek. We cry out for strength. Let every heart be sensi-tive to Your Holy Spirit. Expose darkness and eradicate political schemes that have used this wounded season to pursue ungodly purposes. Lord, undo what the enemy has meant for evil. We cry out for safe re-openings of our churches, schools, businesses, and government and that this affliction would not rise up again. We ask for godly wisdom for each step of re-opening. We ask that instead of a second or third wave of the coronavirus, there would be wave after wave of Your healing presence and glory released across the face of the earth!

We ask that You cause Your redemption to flow through this nation like a river, touching everything in its wake. Let it be on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus Name, Amen
