Psalm 139:16-17 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

1 Tim 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Prayer:
Father God, You have written Your Book of Life for us. You have also written it for those in authority over us – our city, state and national leaders in all the branches and departments they serve. We ask that the fear of the Lord be poured out upon them (Prov 9:10). We ask that Your wisdom, love and understanding abide in them so they lead according to Your purposes. Your laws are for our good and for the welfare of our people. Use our leaders to bring forth Your will for our nation. Help us lift the arms of our leaders (Exodus 17:12-13) to encourage them with prayer. We plead Your help and wisdom fill them so that they choose to be godly leaders who honor You in all they do.

We lift up those who are making righteous decrees and voting according to Your precepts. Bless them and give them Your favor. Help them trust in You and articulate Your purposes (Proverbs 3:1-8). Protect them as they go against the flow and give them favor with You and man. May their steps be ordained by You, Lord, so You delight in their ways (Ps 37:23). May goodness and blessing follow them all the days of their lives.

Lord, bind demonic agendas against our leaders and nation. Release Your wisdom, righteousness and strength in Jesus Name! We pray for those who refuse to hear Your voice or honor Your precepts. Lord, have mercy. Turn them to You.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask You to forgive the sins of our nation and leaders. You told us to forgive those who have trespassed against us (Matt. 6:9-15). Father, many who serve us have made sinful decisions that violate Your commands thus harming the welfare of our people and nation. In the name of Jesus, we ask You to convict them, to pour out Your Spirit upon them and lead them in confession, repentance and submission to You. Guide them according to Your will and truth to reconcile and correct wrong decisions.

Thank You for hearing our prayers, and for healing our nation and our land according to Your will! May Your will be done and Your Kingdom come, on earth as it is in Heaven! In Jesus Name, Amen.
